Good morning children and grown-ups of Year 1.

This week we are continuing with narrative writing on literacy, focusing on the story 'Grandad's Island' and moving onto addition and subtraction within 20 in our maths. In topic we are moving onto working with clay and beginning to make our own fruit bowls by coiling, learning about the capital cities of the UK in geography and making our own fruit kebabs in design and technology. In science we are continuing with our topic 'Polar Explorers' and focusing on the different types of animals and their body structures. Yet another busy week in Y1!
