Good morning, everyone!

I've had a lovely half-term break and I really hope you have too.

Our new topic is called "What sounds nice to you?" and our topic work will include lessons in Music, Art and Science.

It's a very exciting topic where we will end with a filmed production based on the story of Peter and the Wolf.  Our music lessons will include learning about pitch and tempo and taking part in an orchestra where we will play instruments according to a collaborative score.  This will form part of our production too!  Our art lessons include contributing to a 'giant' collage where children will have created their own collage papers to use.  In science we will learn about materials and how they can be changed by twisting, stretching, squashing and bending, for example, and we will use our knowledge of the properties of materials to design our own instruments that we can strum and pluck in order to create different notes of varying pitch.  How exciting the end to Year 2 is going to be!

Here's the timetable for you to look over.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me on y2@olsj.org.uk and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Have a wonderful week!

Miss Dyson, Mrs Waller and Mrs Olding
