Welcome to Week 3 of our topic "What Sounds Nice to You?"

Last week, we had a very musical Forest School where we did our first 'bucket school' since Mrs Janvier led a session in our last topic On Safari.  The children were fabulous!  You are in for a real treat when the children showcase their musical talents in our production of Peter and the Wolf!

We will be continuing to build our repertoire of musical pieces this week by composing and performing in our Percussion Orchestra.  Your child has already chosen their instrument and will now begin to practise using it in different ways in order to produce different effects.  This week your child will learn which role they will be playing in our retelling of Peter and the Wolf:  Grandfather, Peter, Cat, Bird, Duck, Wolf or one of the Hunters?  Perhaps your child will be one of the narrators?  We can't wait to get going with the acting now that we have thoroughly explored the story-line and characters during literacy and music lessons.

In literacy, this week, we will be looking at a playscript version of Peter and the Wolf to help us think about how we might narrate the story, as well as to further develop our understanding of characterisation.

In numeracy, we continue consolidating our multiplication and division skills.
