Welcome back!

Year 3 (Year 3) on: Year 3 Class Blog

Welcome back to a new half term team Y3.

We have a new topic to focus our learning on this half term. We are learning about the events of World War One, it's causes, evenbts, and conclusion. This is a major point in history and a lot of people lost there lives and were affected by the events of the War. Therefore, this topic does need treating with our school value of respect.

We are continuing our analysis and construction of our poetry in literacy.

We are working on addition and subtraction in numeracy.

We are switching to War Game in comprehension.

We are learning about World War One in history.

We are continuing our Promises topic in RE.

Nature Mandalas

Year 3 (Year 3) on: Year 3 Class Blog

We continued our Nature art journey by looking at examples of nature mandalas. These are beautiful patterns created with naturally occurring materials, and they usually are made in a circular shape. Inspired by the other artists, Y3 took to the outside area choosing whether to work in small groups or individually. Here are the creative results of their work:


Forest School collages

This week, in Forest School, we embraced our creativity and made some collages. We thought carefully about the colour and size of the things we collected to help creat our amazing artwork.

This can be done in any outdoor setting. Why not try it next time your out on a walk, at the park or just in your garden?

This week could you complete you next bedrock lesson. ( Your score should go up to 20+)

Metamorphic Rocks

Year 3 (Year 3) on: Year 3 Class Blog

This week Year 3 were investigating how Metamorphic Rock is formed from Igneous and Sedimentary Rocks. They applied pressure and heat to the grains to create Metamorphic rock.
