Good morning parents and grown-ups of year 1.
I hope you have all had an amazing weekend enjoying the sunshine that finally came back out!
This is your very last week as year 1’s. I feel so incredibly proud of you all and very lucky to have had the chance to be your teacher. I will miss you all very much.
Usually, in our last week at school we would have ‘change over day’ where we would get the chance to spend the day in our new classroom with your new teacher. Unfortunately, as with many things this year our transition this week will be a little different. Hopefully you will have all already watched Miss Dyson’s transition video which was added to our blog on Friday. This week, Miss Dyson will be taking over our afternoons with transition activities so that you can get to know each other a little more before September. All the activities are detailed on the learning grid and the resources for the activities can be found in a folder named ‘Transition from year 1 to year 2’ in the parent folder.
The rest of our week will run the same as always with a 9am start.
Cosmic yoga or morning tasks.
RWI – set 3 sounds reading and spelling and reading a book.
Maths – White Rose maths with a focus on time.
Literacy – Thinking about our time in year 1.
Remember we break up for the summer holidays on Thursday this week so there will be no Come and See.
Here is a video of me explaining this weeks’ time table: Learning explained.MOV
I hope you all have an amazing last week in year 1, I am going to miss you all so much.
Take care, keep safe and keep smiling.
Miss Johnson xx
