Good morning Year 2!
(Video version of this blog available in the parent folder)
It's our last week! What a strange summer term it has turned out to be...
It may not have been the end to the year that we all would have wished for, but I have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing you learning at home with the people you love. I have been blown away by the support shown by parents and by the hard work put in day after day by my lovely Year 2s. It's actually been really lovely to see you all, children and parents, in this different light shed on us by the current situation we find ourselves in.
This week, you have been invited to a picnic with Mr Gouldin on Monday so I hope to see many of you there today. I won't be able to join you but hopefully I can give you all a wave from afar!
Mr Gouldin has prepared some lovely transition activities for you in place of literacy all this week. You can find all the resources you need in the parent folder.
Our afternoon activities will be a little bit more laid back, as they would have been if we had been in school together for this last week. We do have a Come and See lesson on Wednesday, as I think that it is important to appreciate God's creation - our world! I wonder when we will receive our green Blue Peter badges? I hope you'll let me know when you do. On Tuesday, I ask that you make a litter bug, to show the importance of recycling and not littering our planet up with rubbish. On Thursday (our last day!) I suggest that you "create a memory" by decorating a stone with a message that is important to you. If I was doing this task, I might write the word 'hope' with a drawing of a rainbow and a dove. It would then take pride of place in a special part of my garden to remind me of all we've been through and to give me hope when I'm feeling a little down.
Monday's ICT is to revisit the Kahoot! quiz: Useful or Beautiful? Geography. At the end of the quiz it was Lukasz who held the number 1 spot - can anyone beat him? You'll need to be fast with your answers if you want to take the top position!
I hope that many of you will still find time to email me this week, as I would love to see some last happy photos of you enjoying your learning and family time. I'm going to miss you all very much indeed, but I know you will be in safe hands with Mr Gouldin. Remember, I'll only be next door if you need me and I'll always be happy to say hello to you, so please don't forget to! I wish you all well in Year 3. When all this is over, I hope that Mr Gouldin will send you back to Year 2, on occasion, to show off your amazing work to me and the new Year 2s. Your work will inspire them and I know you will be amazing role-models to these younger children in school.
Remember: Be The Best You Can Be!
Love to you all
