Admissions

Admissions

Choosing and applying for a place at school is one of the most important things we do for our children.

As a Catholic school the Governing body sets the admissions policy and allocates places based on the criteria outlined in the admissions policy.  The 2022/2023 main school admissions policy is here and that for Foundation Stage 1 is here

Prospective parents are advised to read the admissions policy carefully and to visit the school.  It is important to complete all parts of the application form adding as much detail as necessary to support your application.  The admissions process is co-ordinated by the Local Authority. Please note that from September 2016 Rotherham Local Authority are accepting phone or electronic applications. This can be accessed through the RMBC website here.

Parents/carers also need to fill in the Catholic Primary Additional Information Form available here.

Please contact the school office if you need further information about applying for a place at Our and Lady and Joseph's school.

In-Year Applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the normal admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. The Local Authority will, in so far as is possible, co-ordinate all in-year transfers for all voluntary aided primary schools and academies in Rotherham. Parents should complete a common application form (Transfers) which can be obtained by contacting the School Admissions Team on 01709 823777.

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the policy, will be applied.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing, and you have the right of appeal to an independent appeal panel.
