Catholic Life of the School
At Our Lady and St Joseph’s, we are part of the Catholic Church and so, we have a responsibility to nurture the spirituality and faith of all our staff and our pupils. We are a school rich in opportunities for children to develop their moral and spiritual compass and as our mission statement reads, we value the special identity that God’s love has created in each and every one of them.
We have Gospel inspired school values of love, justice, honesty, respect, hope, forgiveness and stewardship. These are at the heart of our everyday love and caring for one another.
Our Catholic life encompasses all that we do here, from our structured prayers throughout the day to class led Gospel assemblies. It includes responsibilities for children to become school councillors or playground leaders. Most importantly, it also involves time for children to learn and encounter God.
Although we recognise we cannot do this alone. We are passionate about working together with our parents, families, church and community to encourage all our children to develop their God given talents and skills and realise their unique potential.
