Race for Life 24.6.22

FS 2 (Foundation 2) on: F2 Class Blog

F2 have certainly made us all proud today :) They all participated in our annual Race for Life event with gusto...even though they were all shattered by the end of it!

For your weekend homelearning:

  • read your RWInc books to your grown-ups. Can you read without Fred Talking? Can you recognise any red words?
  • Practice your number bonds to 5 and 10. Can you say a number bond without using any equipment?
  • Write a sentence about your weekend! What have you been up to?
  • This week we've been learning about Paul Klee. Can you make any artwork inspired by him? We've looked at Castle and Sun and Cat and Bird this week.

Have a lovely weekend F2,

Love Mrs Pegg and Mrs Clark x

F2’s Buddy Day 17.6.22

FS 2 (Foundation 2) on: F2 Class Blog

F2 have had the best day today because we spent the entire day with our Y6 buddies :)

We started with a walk to Wath Town Hall to sketch the building and do a little bit of tree rubbing. After dinner, we started with a water fight...because why not in this heat! We created a huge heart using outdoor materials for our Outdoor Friday activity before finishing with an ice-pop! F2 should definitely sleep tonight!!

For your weekend home-learning:

  • read your RWInc books. Don’t forget the one on Oxford Owl
  • write a sentence about your weekend adventures. Remember this needs to be as independent as you can be.
  • This week we’ve learnt about Van Gogh and the different lines he used. Can you create a piece of artwork inspired by Van Gogh? You can use The Starry Night or Sunflowers as inspiration.
  • Can you count to 100?

Have a lovely weekend and fingers crossed the beautiful weather stays!

Love Mrs Pegg and Mrs Clark xx

I will be providing the RWInc speed sound links on a Friday now as the RWInc teachers are choosing sounds each day as we start to fill gaps in the sounds that children are a little unsure of. If there are any sounds that you know your child may need practice with, please let me know and I will the send the links via email.

This week we are looking at counting out quantities from a larger group, recognise numbers 5-10 by showing the '5 and a bit' structure, count 20 objects, practice saying the teen numbers and practicing counting to 100! There are a few resources that you might like to use at home. The first being The Big Numbers Song, where the song counts to 100 and beyond. The second is a useful website called Topmarks, where you can practice some of the skills we're covering this week by playing games on your tablet/computer

In our Topic learning, this week's artist is VAN GOGH and our star words are: lines, curved and swirly.
