School Trips

Year 5 (Year 5) on: Year 5 Class Blog

This week Year 5 have been on two school trips.

The first was our Geography trip to Sheffield to help us answer the questions 'what make Sheffield a City?'

They explored Sheffield and identified the different features that made Sheffield a city. They also conducted pedestrian counts in different areas to see how busy the city was.

The second trip was to St Pius for an evacuation day. They learnt lots about the world war and what it would be like to have been an evacuee.

Wath Academy Sports Day!

Year 5 (Year 5) on: Year 5 Class Blog

Today the children went to Wath academy to take part in a range of sporting activities. They were all absolutely fantastic and represented OLSJ amazingly. They even won the award for putting in the most effort!

They began the morning by completing a range of athletics activities such as long jump, high jump, relay racing, and different types of throwing.

After lunch, the children took part in a range of sports such as golf, tennis, football and tag rugby.

The final activities of the day were rock climbing and problem solving games.

They all had so much fun and did us all proud. Well done Year 5 :)

Forest School

Year 5 (Year 5) on: Year 5 Class Blog

In Forest school this week the children represented the Holy Trinity in different ways.

Some used their lashing skills to create a triangle representing the Holy Trinity and others created the symbol on the ground using natural resources. Another group of children decorated candles which represented either God the Father, God the Son or God the Holy Spirit. They used their knowledge from come and see to help them decide what natural items and colours would work best for their representation.

Platinum Jubilee

Year 5 (Year 5) on: Year 5 Class Blog

Today the children have celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We started the day by joining in with lots of different activities and then after went to watch the OLSJ Royal Variety talent show. Well done to Abi and Esme for making the finals!! All the children were fantastic and had a great morning celebrating the jubilee.

Have a great half term everyone :)
