Good morning Year 2 and families of Year 2

I hope you enjoyed the weekend and are ready for another wonderful week of learning.

We finished our maths learning about telling the time to o'clock, half past, quarter to and past, and finally to 5 minutes last week.  Why not see how well your child is doing by regularly asking them to read the time at these intervals when at home?  I'm sure they'll impress you!

This week in maths we are consolidating our learning on Multiplication and Division, and this will continue into next week.  We will be picking up some instruments this week in order to experiment with different instruments and to begin creating our percussion orchestra.  I wonder which instrument your child will choose?  We will hear music from Peter and the Wolf and match the animals in the story to the instrument that they are represented by.  In science, we look at a variety of different materials, changing their shape and thinking about their suitability for purpose.

Here's the timetable for you to look over.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me on y2@olsj.org.uk and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Have a wonderful week!

Miss Dyson, Mrs Waller and Mrs Olding
