Year 2 Homework WC 20.6.22
Posted: Jun 16, 2022 by: Year 2 (Year 2) on: Year 2 Class Blog
Hi Year 2 and Year 2 grownups,
Another brilliant week for Year 2. Some brilliant writing in literacy and some directions dancing with Hip Hop Grannie in maths. Here's the link to the song and dance for you all to have a wiggle to at home, and to practice our key vocabulary in maths. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers/ks1-maths-position-&-direction/zhh9scw
Reading Homework
As always, it is really important to keep up that reading as we work towards year 3 and so children can become fluent readers enjoying books for pleasure. We suggest that all children read at least 3 times a week. For our children in Read Write Inc groups you must start reading your RWI storybook first and then read a book of your choice. Here are our home work links for Read Write Inc group children to practice sounds at home:

For children in comprehension with Miss Dyson please remember to choose a reading for pleasure book from the classroom to take home and return it as soon as you've finished to replace with a new book. It's really important that we practice our school value of stewardship by looking after and returning classroom books promptly.
Maths Homework:
Here are the links to our 2 recommended sites Numbots and Sumdog. Let's see if we can get really high scores to impress Mrs Waller with on Thursday!

Extra Activity
We will be looking closely at glossary's in our topic work, so it would be brilliant if you could practice making a glossary all of your own. A glossary is a list of key terms with definitions for you to help teach others all about the subject. You start from A and work your way through the alphabet. Here's an example of a glossary:
If you have any questions please do ask me :)
Lots of love
