Creating our Batik artwork

Posted: May 26, 2023 by: Year 6 (Year 6) on: Year 6 Class Blog

This week in Year 6, we have been creating our own piece of Batik artwork inspired by Friday Kahlo's self-portrait.

We began by drawing our design and transferring this onto our fabric. We then used tjantings - a pen-like tool used in batik - to apply our wax to our design. Once this wax had dried, we used a range of fabric dye to fill our design with beautiful bright colours.

Year 6 truly searched faithfully for excellence when creating these beautiful pieces of artwork!

Below are the timetable and homework for this week.
