We are scientists

Year 1 turned into scientists this afternoon testing materials that would be suitable to make a kite.
Children thought about what properties a suitable material for a kite needed to have. Following this, children undertook a series of investigations which helped them to decided which material would be most suitable.
Children tested how strong, waterproof and light each material was and then went on to record their findings so that they could compare the outcome.
Children will now go on to make a list of materials they would like to use to make their kite before moving on to designing how their kite will look.
We are excited to see the designs later this week!
