Hedgehog outdoor afternoon

This weeks outdoor afternoon had a hedgehog theme which started off with us discussing everything we knew about hedgehogs. We discussed how they are nocturnal and how they like to hibernate in the winter.
Children then went off into the outdoors and made their own hedgehogs using clay and twigs and hedgehog pictures out of leaves.
Encorporating one of our school values into our outdoor learning, children showed stewardship by working in pairs to carefully build hedgehog hibertation homes in and around our outdoor areas.
As always, Year 1 finished off their afternoon with hot chocolate and a story sat on logs in the willow.
